the 18kg silicon block refers to its mass and original use,  to the concepts of energy and potential energy  ( it was meant to make 15cm by 15cm photovoltaic cells ).
the title of the work indicates the energy potentially produced by the block if it would be cut up in cells, and those cells assembled in photovoltaic panels ( for an average use of 25 years ).
